Dragon Zakura, which touches upon the theme of university entrance exams, was awarded the Kodansha Manga Award. The series has a sales record of over eight million copies, and was adapted into a TV drama series. In 2010, it was also picked up as a TV drama in Korea. It garnered a viewership rating of 20%, and the drama was broadcasted in over ten countries.
