Former delinquent-turned lawyer Kenji Sakuragi takes on the task of fixing the operations of run-down private high school of dropouts, Ryuzan High. At first, Sakuragi plans to take care of the school’s financial issues, but he comes across the idea that the fastest way to prevent the school from closing down and improve its operations is to raise its percentage of students that matriculate into prestigious universities. He proposes a plan to have 100 students pass the hardest university entrance exam in Japan, the exam to get into Tokyo University, in five years. Sakuragi accepts Naomi Mizuno and Yusuke Yajima into his newly created college-prep class, hiring offbeat yet effective teachers to help him teach his students test-taking techniques and how to study.
